Role Description:

Perform quality control and testing guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards for all computer system development. Implement, perform, and maintain components of the IT Quality Management System and programs to ensure that all information systems meet company standards and business requirements. Perform Testing and Production Quality Control processes among others.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify IT systems/services meet specifications by performing programs to ensure that all information systems products meet company standards and business requirements providing hands-on support during systems-software development to comply with specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Assure computer systems-software quality by implementing, performing, and maintaining components of the IT Quality Management System while performing quality control and testing activities for IT systems and services.
  • Support the information processing requirements by performing and supporting root cause investigations, corrective and preventive actions programs for non-conforming specifications, IT customers’ complaints, and system malfunctions while executing deployments and testing plans, cases, and scripts.
  • Identify testing needs and determine computer system-software and its changes acceptability or recommendations for its acceptance assuring the utilization of company’s software development life cycle.
  • Benchmark industry trends/best practices in IT Quality Control & Testing area with proper documentation.
  • Protect the company from incompliance risks by creating, executing, and maintaining quality control and testing standards implementing and monitoring, measuring and testing techniques and tools.
  • Maximize the utilization of information and associated technologies within the organization by working with IT management in the formulation of Quality Control and Testing plans identifying needs, streamlining, simplifying and eliminating non-value added steps in the processes.
  • Support the automation of software testing processes, improving QC productivity and reducing defects reported in the field maintaining a structured, reusable test case library and defects tracking tools.
  • Apply business sense while enforcing quality control, testing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results to keep business information confidential.
  • Maintain updated knowledge in software testing and quality control, the applicable laws, regulations and internal/external standards for the industry enforcing IT governance, standards, and practices.
  • Manage the QA environment, QA & QC roles, and QA security accesses to ensure the best control environment for QA tests and validations.

General abilities and knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge in .NET, ETL, stored procedures, QA Tools and automation testing tools.
  • Considerable knowledge of standard computer program design and development methodology.
  • Ability to review complex applications programs, developed by internal programmers or vendors, to determine their efficiency in meeting quality standards define by the business directives and/or user departments.

Must:

  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Plus:

  • Experience in Healthcare Insurance industry and/or Certification in Software Quality Engineering.

Education and Experience:

  • BA in Computer Science or related field.
  • Vast experience in software development, SDLC, quality control and testing.
  • Minimum five years of experience in designing and developing complex computer applications programs and at least three years in software quality control, quality assurance, validation, or testing.
  • Minimum three years of management experience, assigning and reviewing work of high level technical personnel involved in software applications development.
